Two Tuesdays - Collage #17

2012 Collage Challenge

© K. Johnson 'Summer Plans' - 7"x 5" collage on paper

Inside an old gardening book I found at an estate sale a couple months ago were some folded up hand written notes from someone’s garden plans. As I was cutting and gluing these found notes into this collage I was wondering about what plants were their favorites and what their garden might have looked like.

I’m forever jotting down ideas for future garden plans. Some so grand that I’ll probably never get to them but it’s always fun to have a vision and dream a little.

All the collages in this series can be seen here.

  1. Beautiful, Kathy--and that's coming from someone who's not usually a yellow lover! Really nice :)

    1. I'm honored ; ) Yellow is not usually one of my go to colors for art but I do love it. My studio is painted a sunny yellow that keeps me happy even on gray days.

  2. love this one, Kathy. Did you paint the lily on the left? I really like how the green repeats itself in the stem, leaves and torn typed paper. happy weekend.!!

    1. The Lily in the middle is my own photo from this years garden. The other two I doctored up a little are from a magazine ad. I should go through my sketch book drawings and start using some of those.
Hope all went well getting back to school - enjoy the holiday weekend!
