For the first time since I started this challenge I didn't think I was going to have anything ready to show this week. I've been feeling pretty scattered with many projects on my mind. Even when I did manage to steal a little time to sit down and start a collage I would get to a point where I couldn't figure out where to go with it or knew it just wasn't going to work at all.
Over the weekend I was thinking about and making notes for all the things I had to do to get ready for company coming on the 4th of July holiday this week. One of the notes was a reminder to put the flag out and that's when the red, white and blue theme came to mind. I went through my bins of paper and pulled out all the red, white and blue I could find and spread them out on the table. I started with the very structured and planned out blue one Sunday evening and cutting it a bit close, started and finished the throw it together quick and don't think about it red one this morning.

very nice! like the textures on the red and the various papers on the blue one--are the blueberries cut and placed on top? are you ahead for the next tuesday, since you got 3 done this time? haha ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wish! I'm hoping I can figure out what to do with a couple of the ones I have started. Yes, the blueberries were cut from a magazine and pasted on and the red one is using more of the painted tissue papers that I'm having so much fun with.
ReplyDeleteI very much like your red, white and blue separated. I have a very hard time with them combined. Those mega giant blueberries are cracking me up.
ReplyDeleteThey are a bit over sized aren't they : ) - I guess I have blueberries on the brain. I just spent time recently building this crazy contraption from bamboo sticks and netting to keep the birds off my small blueberry patch. It's working - I've been eating lots of blueberries.
DeleteHello Friend! I just perused the last few currant blog posts and everything is just so beautiful and inspiring. I'm about to pour myself a cup of green peppermint tea and write you an email... talk to you there.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your textured red, white, and blue theme! My absolute favorite is the red. I love those t or e marks(?)..they add amazing texture to my eye. Awesome monochromatic composition. I think I will try one this weekend. You inspire! Adriann ♥
ReplyDeleteThank You Adriann!
DeleteI think the marks you are referring to are the ones I made from a vegetable stamp - the cut end of romaine lettuce. It makes a nice rose like stamp and each head of lettuce gives a little different shape and look.
I'd love to see what you come up with this weekend.
love these!
