Winter Distraction

The weather has been quite a distraction so far this year. This is a photo looking out of my studio window on one of the icy stormy days. More snow in the forecast for this week.

Sketchbook Challenge - January

I saw the badge for this challenge on my friend Ileene's blog. Every month there will be a new theme. This will be a great way to keep me  thinking about and using my sketchbook all year. January's theme - "Highly Prized"

Affirmations

2 weeks ago I attended a fantastic workshop called Art & Affirmations offered by Laura Gaffke at Above Elite Studios in Westerly, RI.  We spent time writing and reflecting on what we wanted for ourselves in the coming year. We created a page for each affirmation and then put them together to form a mini book. My word for the year is "Balance". Affirmation #1 - "I live a balanced life". Juggling all I have to do with all I want to do has always been a challenge.

Great Things and Accomplishments of 2010

Inspired by Millie Donovan’s 2010 Favorite things and Alyson Stanfield encouraging everyone to write down their accomplishements for 2010, I decided to make my very first blog post a combination of these two ideas. This year, instead of getting caught up in the thoughts of how many things I did not start or finish, I choose to reflect on and be proud of all that I did in work and play throughout the past year.
